This family is especially special to me. These little girls are our granddaughters and this was their second birthday.
We also photographed their first birthday photos at 8th Street Studio. As a natural light photographer, it can be tricky to find indoor locations that are bright enough. This studio has incredible bright light and a wide array of props and furniture. The rocking chair, however, was mine when I was a little girl. How sweet it is to see it used for a new generation.
We were able to get a couple of family photos with these wiggly little girls. I am a fan of candid shots because they feel real. We will get more posed shots when the girls are older.
When they turned one, their mama had smash cakes for them. Over the past year, they’ve gained an appreciation for donuts. So it was the best way to celebrate this day. I just love how they “cheers” with their pastries.
