Ben is an incredible young man with a wide variety of talents and interests. He is intelligent, athletic and has BIG plans for his post-high school life. We wanted to incorporate those things into his session.
We started with a few family photos which allowed me to see the fun relationship that he has with his older brother, Charlie (whose senior photos I took just a couple of years ago). I’ve known his mom for several years and think it’s even sweeter to photograph a family whose stories are familiar.
We started in a quiet lake area with water features and a great walking bridge. I have a thing for bridges and have since I was a kid. You will see two of them featured in this session. One of them was at our second location at the University or Northwestern St. Paul. This campus had really beautiful options for us, including two chapels — the Island Chapel and the Nazareth Chapel.
One of my favorite things do to in a senior session is to have the model look at whoever is with them while I snap photos. Can you tell when Ben is looking at his mom? I think the smiles become even more genuine.
